Popular Ceremony Songs***

"  Dwight was an absolute pleasure to work with! He guided me in the process of choosing songs for our ceremony and helped to ensure that our ceremony was exactly what my husband and I wanted it to be. He even helped my mom and mother-in-law write a special song for the day! Dwight is extremely kind and professional - he is my absolute first choice for anyone looking for guitar music on their wedding day."

I have played several hundred wedding ceremonies over the past few years. I reviewed the music choices of couples for the past three years ...

And here are the top 10 ceremony songs that couples have chosen in the past three years .

( There was a Tie for #10, so there are actually 11 here)

  1. Canon In D-  J Pachelbel

Still the most common choice and a great processional ! Sounds elegant on guitar, can be lengthened or shortened gracefully , and instantly creates the perfect mood. Especially good tone-setter for the party processional if the bride is entering to something non-traditional .

 2Here Comes The Sun-G. Harrison

My personal favorite recessional song, but also a  good processional played a bit slower. Made for guitar, perfect upbeat feeling and tempo. Everybody from little children to grandmothers love this song.

3.  Jesu Joy Of Man's Desiring - J S Bach

4. Make You Feel My Love- B Dylan (cover by  Adele)

Lyrics are Great, but also a nice guitar instrumental. Several couples have had me sing this mid ceremony.

5. All You Need Is Love- Lennon and McCartney

 Another great upbeat recessional.

6.Over The Rainbow and/or Wonderful World

Re-popularized by Israel Kamakawiwo`ole

Either song is great sung or played as guitar instrumental.

 7. Marry Me -Train

Best sung because of the great lyrics, but also a great guitar instrumental .

 8. 1000 Years - C. Perri

Ok...so I don't know anything about vampires or vampire movies, but this is an absolutely beautiful song. Lyrics are Great, but also a nice instrumental .

 9. Can't Help Falling In Love With You-Becaud et al ( best known by Elvis)

Simply one of the most beautiful Love Songs ever.

10. Into The Mystic - Van Morrison

Awesome song...either instrumental or vocal .

10Moon River - Mancini

Kind of surprised me when I counted the results, but has remained a graceful and popular instrumental processional over the years.

Keep in mind that these top 10 wedding ceremony songs combined accounted for only slightly over 50% of all the processionals and recessionals I played.  So there were lots of other really cool wedding songs that couples chose, many unique, and we made them all work beautifully. That's one of the fun aspects of what I do.

So, if you've got ideas for the music to make your wedding special, e-mail or call me, and we'll talk about creating the perfect soundtrack for your day ( no obligation) .
